On the evening of April 18, 2021, at Beethoven Hall – Hong Bang International University, Miss and Mister Ao Dai Vietnam 2021 was officially closed with an impressive finale, and the award of Miss and Mister Ao Dai Viet season was officially honored.

The Miss and Mister Vietnamese Ao Dai 2021 contest brings together a jury with equity. Accompany the contestants in the final night including: Top 20 Miss Universe 2019 – supermodel Hoang Thuy, supermodel Xuan Hung, model MID Nguyen, and Sponsors – Designer Dinh Bach Dat, Sponsor Makeup Tran Lam, Sponsor – Founder Ngoc Khoa, Sponsor – Gunma Vina Mask Founder.

This is a contest organized by the Youth Union of HIU in collaboration with the HIU-MULTIMEDIA Media Club, to create a playground for HIU students and high school students across Ho Chi Minh City to participate in, and also celebrated the 46th anniversary of the Liberation of the South – Reunification of the Country (April 30, 1975 – April 30, 2021).

Honoring the value of Ao Dai through contests

After experiencing the two exciting and dramatic rounds of the Preliminary and the Semi-Final, which attracted the participation of more than 150 candidates who are passionate in the national costume, which has associated with many historical events of the nation. In the final night, the top 30 contestants participated in the doubles round, men and women paired up and together performed their double catwalk performance and the T-shaped catwalk single round, then 30 seconds were given to them to describe about the Ao Dai they were dressing for the Jury to select the 12 best candidates, then continued participating in the behavioral contest with questions about the traditional Ao Dai, the national costume of Vietnam.

Through this contest, Mr. Do Duc Anh – Secretary of the Youth Union of Hong Bang International University, heading of the Organizing Committee of the contest, wishes to help students remember and be proud of this type of competition about Vietnamese traditional costumes. At the same time, the contest is also a useful playground, not only helping students cultivate more knowledge about Vietnam’s culture and history, but also helping them to exchange and get to know many new friends. 

Miss and Mister Vietnamese Ao Dai 2021 is not only a contest to learn and honor the beauty of Vietnamese Ao Dai for students. The contest spread and inspired passion and positive inspiration for HIU students, and students at high schools about the Vietnamese Ao Dai, the traditional Vietnamese national dress.

From now on, you have a new “home”

After the preparation process, on the morning of March 21, 2021 – Reunification Day 2021, the Standing Committee of Hong Bang International University's Youth Union held a handover ceremony for the youth project “Recovering the image of the Vietnamese heroic mother and brothers, heroes and martyrs – 2021”, in An Hoa, Trung An, Cu Chi district.

The handover ceremony was attended by the family members of Vietnamese heroic mothers, relatives of martyrs; Mrs. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Thuy – Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee of Trung  An Commune, Mr. Ho Nhut Minh – Secretary of Trung An Youth Union, Mr. Do Duc Anh – Secretary of the Youth Union, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Trung – Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union, and members from the Standing Committee and the youth of the Youth Union of Trung An Commune.

Bringing the project back to the fatherland

With the aim of spreading the significance of the work, in 2021, the Standing Board of HIU’s Youth Union decided to focus on restoring the images of Vietnamese heroic mothers and martyrs, in Trung An, Cu Chi district, associated with 2 resistance wars against France and America.

The collection of information, data, and photo restoration work were all carried out by the students of Hong Bang International University. Sharing about the difficulties in the implementation process, Mr. Do Duc Anh – Secretary of the Youth Union said: “The restoration of the image depends mostly on the quality of the original image. Most of the photos are old over time. There is a case where Vietnamese heroic mother’s family does not have a photo to worship, apart from the only picture on the old ID card. The team of students participating in the restoration have to come up with a lot of solutions to get the best quality photos after restoration.”

More solutions for traditional educational activities

In addition to handing over the legacy photos, the project also presented information boards with biographies of Vietnamese Heroic mothers and martyrs, presented 05 gifts to 5 revolutionary and disadvantaged families in the area of An Hoa commune. Thereby, educating more about the tradition of patriotism of the people of Trung An commune, for nowadays' young generation.

The project of HIU Youth “Recovering relics of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers and Martyrs” has been maintained by the Standing Committee of the Youth Union since 2019. Through the restoration of relics and stories of martyrs' sacrifices, the Standing Committees of the Youth Union promoted the implementation of traditional education, giving gratitude to the young generation.

HO CHI MINH COMMUNIST YOUTH UNION – HONG BANG INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY

In 1997, implementing the policy of educational socialization, Hong Bang Private University was established by the Prime Minister. Right from the first days of establishment, due to functional and missionary aspects of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, administrators of HIU set up, prepared plans and necessary conditions applying to the Youth Union for permission to establish a grassroots union at the University on December 28, 1998.

2020 is the first year of the 2020-2022 term (term VIII). For many years, the HIU’s Youth Union has always achieved excellent results in the region. In 2013, the Youth Union was honored to receive the Third-class Labor Medal from the President with excellent achievements in work from 2007 to 2013,  contributing to the cause of building socialism and defending the Fatherland.

VIETNAMESE STUDENT ASSOCIATION – HONG BANG INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY

The Student Union of Hong Bang Private University was appointed a provisional Executive Committee under the Decision No. 52/QD – HSV dated December 31, 2001 of the Ho Chi Minh City Student Union and approved by The Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Association for recognizing the organization of the Student Union of Hong Bang University in Decision No. 61/QD – TUHSV dated December 3, 2003, signed by Mr. Lam Phuong Thanh Standing Vice President on May 29, 2006. On November 2009, Hong Bang University’s Student Union was renamed by its superiors to Hong Bang International University Student Association.

The Student Union of Hong Bang International University, is a socio-political organization of students of Hong Bang International University, operating under the leadership of the Party Committee, the Board of Directors and the operation orientation of the Standing Committee. School Union Service. The school’s Vietnamese Students’ Association is the organization that organizes volunteering, cultural and artistic activities, and honors the school’s Student of the “5-good” merits.

Currently, the school has 5790 members, including 14 branches of the Faculty Association, 12 clubs affiliated to the school level; Number of branches of the Association under the branch of the Faculty: 126 Vietnamese Students’ Association of classes and 34 clubs. The Student Union Executive Committee currently has 23 members: 01 Chairman, 02 Vice Presidents, 4 members of the Secretariat and 16 members of the Executive Committee.

After 6 terms with many achievements and efforts in activities, in 2020 the Student Union of the University entered the term of 2020 – 2023, marking many innovations in activities.
