The International Training Institute celebrates the outstanding achievement of Phan Trong Tan, a 2019 alumnus of the Korean Language Department, who has been awarded the prestigious Global Korea Scholarship 2024.
Tan is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Korean Language Education at PaiChai University, fully funded by the Korean government. The scholarship covers all expenses, including tuition fees, round-trip airfare, living expenses, and insurance. This incredible opportunity allows Tan to focus on his studies and immerse himself in the Korean academic environment without financial burden.
Tan credits his success to the strong foundation he received at HIU. He expresses his gratitude for the dedicated faculty in the Korean Language Department who provided him with invaluable knowledge and shared their experiences of studying and living in Korea. Furthermore, the opportunity to participate in a 4-week fully funded exchange program at Chodang University, provided by HIU, further fueled his ambition to pursue graduate studies in Korea.
The journey to securing this scholarship was challenging, involving a rigorous application process, essay writing, and interviews that spanned over six months. However, Tan’s determination and passion for the Korean language propelled him through every obstacle. He now realizes his dream of pursuing higher education in Korea.
Tan extends his sincere thanks to the faculty of the Korean Language and Culture Department and the staff at the International Training and Cooperation Institute for their continuous support and guidance during his time at HIU. He acknowledges their contribution to his personal and academic growth.
