SARS-CoV-2, also known by many names such as Wuhan virus, Corona Virus, CoVid-19, is a global epidemic virus strain that affects all continents. In the world. Due to the effective coordination between health levels and the population, epidemics are always under control promptly in Vietnam.

However, disseminating basic knowledge and updating new information about this virus is essential, especially for health workers. The laboratory industry is one of the important links in virus diagnosis, contributing to early detection of potentially infectious objects in the community and timely localization of epidemics.

To systematize the basic knowledge and update new information on the SARS-CoV-2 epidemic, the Medical Laboratory faculty held a seminar on SARS-CoV-2 on the morning of December 26.2020, with the participation of lecturers and students of the health sector – Hong Bang International University.

General introduction to viruses.
Introduction of virus diagnostic methods.
Introduce the structure of the virus.
Introduce some treatment options.

Associate Professor Dr. Xuan Lien has systematized useful knowledge for lecturers – students, especially information about new strains of virus recently discovered in European and African countries. This is also the information that health workers in general and teaching staff – students studying in the healthcare field need to pay attention to working with the community to prevent epidemics more effectively.
