Ms. Phan Do Thuy Dung holds a bachelor degree from the Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, majoring in International Studies. She got a fully-funded scholarship from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to study two years master’s degree in International Relations in Japan in 2018. She finished her master course at the International University of Japan in 2020 with the graduation thesis, namely “The limitation of dispute settlement system and its impact on the integration of developing countries into the multilateral trading system (WTO)”. During the master course, she took a semester as an exchange graduate student at the Political Science and Law Department, University of Bocconi – Milan, Italy, which is ranked as a top university in Euro and the world.
Ms. Dung had five-years experience in working for a multinational company, Bosch Vietnam, one of the world’s leading global supplier of automotive technology and services headquartered in Germany. Despite the fact that working in culture diversity workplace is quite challenging, she was successful in building up the solid relationships with her internal colleagues as well as her overseas customers and suppliers from different areas, such as Jatco Japan, Bosch Japan, Honda China, Punch, Hyundai and ATMO Germany etc. She also made use of different approaches to improve the supplier performances so as to ensure timely delivery, right quantity, and high quality to overseas customers, and achieving result of zero complaint from customers. From the moment, she leaned that appreciating the differences in individuals, mutual respect and cooperative effort would be beneficial to business operations among companies and state actors in general.
Besides her previous experiences in business, Ms. Dung has a strong interest in education. Therefore, she prefers to grow in academic research and expert in international relations as a lecturer and she decided to choose Hong Bang university to fulfill her ambition. She believes that education would help to cultivate the souls of human beings and erase the backwards with the aim of a better future for the next generations.
Thanks to her valuable experiences in business sector and her passion for education, she is able to assist her students in their academic research and helping them to shape their future career properly. She is currently involved in following courses for students of International Relations: Introduction to International Relations, International Organizations (WTO, United Nations etc.), International Law and International Trade Law. Her research interests focus on international trade system and global issues such as refugees, globalization, and civil war etc.
